Responsive Attentive Peers (RAP) are life-skills groups for
youth, offered at community locations such as youth clubs, schools and
community centers.
Project Safe Place is a network of public places reaching out to
youth in crisis. When a youth seeks assistance at a Safe Place site, the
site contacts us, and a staff member is dispatched to talk to the youth
and help determine the next course of action.
Youth Advocacy Council involves area youth, including current and
former clients, who act as ambassadors to the community. They meet
regularly to provide feedback about programs, lead activities in the
shelter, offer support to the agency, and create a forum for youth to
have a voice in the community. We are accepting applications for
membership now - click here to apply.
Leadership Forum is a day-long activity for area youth to learn
leadership and advocacy skills in preparation for the following trip to
the state capitol to meet with state lawmakers. Learn more
here or click
here to apply.
Diversity Conference is a one-day event at which youth tackle
specific challenges to gain an understanding of trials that come with
trying to operate in today’s world with those problems. The
conference is scheduled for December, 2006. |
