Parents and Teens Rally To Prevent Violence

An increasing amount of violence in schools has one local organization attacking the problem. North Texas Youth Connection began the peace process in Grayson County rallying with local teens and parents to talk about violence prevention.
Due to peer pressure, teens are two times more likely than others to be victims of violent crimes. While 37% of American students report a presence of gangs in their schools. The Sherman Independent School District assures they take a no-tolerance approach to school violence by sending disruptive students to the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program.
The North Texas Youth Connection has six meeting a year and will continue their efforts. If your or your teen would like to get involved, you can contact their office at (903) 893-4717. All meeting are free to the public and no reservations are required.
